Prince Charles has arrived in Barbados as the Caribbean island prepares to remove the Queen as its head-of-state and become a republic.

Pro-republican campaigners in Jamaica this week renewed their longstanding demand to select their own head of state – and a poll showed a majority of the public were in favour.
