THE race is on to see which will become independent first. For Scotland has a new competitor in the race to get out of Britain, and many citizens of the British Virgin Islands hope they will do so as soon as possible.

MEPs have voted to add British overseas territories such as the British Virgin Islands, Guernsey, and Jersey to its post-Brexit tax havens blacklist.

UK overseas territories such as Cayman Islands also may lose protection once afforded by UK’s EU membership.

The British Overseas Territories, while largely unknown to the British public, will be affected enormously by Brexit.
